The Tate Modern, the Broad in LA, and Musée d’Orsay in Paris are my obvious favorites. I also am inspired by the art produced by students in art universities and try to go to exhibits by graduating students at schools like MICA and RISD.
How do you usually start your weekend?
I love to do yoga on the beach at sunrise. I also love lingering with my coffee and the weekend NY Times, especially the weekend Arts, Travel and Book Review sections. Since there is a retail boutique to manage, the work week is usually 24/7, and weekends can be a very busy time, so my weekend mornings generally start early and are a sacred time for me to gather thoughts.
Who or what is your biggest design influence?
My influences are far and wide. Kandinsky, Frank Lloyd Wright, Le Corbusier, Merce Cunningham, Vicente Wolf, Frederico Moupou, Pina Bausch, Philip Glass, David Bowie and Brian Eno. All great thinkers, creators, and innovators who’s impact in evident in my design work.
